THE SEAL OF GOD IS NOT THE PASSOVER BUT THE HOLY SPIRIT-WMSCOG
Some people insist that the seal of God in Revelation Chapter 7 does not represent the Passover and they also argue that the seal of God is not the Passover but the Holy Spirit, quoting the verses as follow,
- 2 Cor. 1:21「Now it is God who makes both us and you stand firm in Christ. He anointed us, set his seal of ownership on us, and put his Sprit in our hearts as a deposit, guaranteeing what is to come.」
- Eph. 1:13「And you also were included in Christ when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation, Having believed, you were marked in him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit,」
In any ages, God put His seal whenever He thinks is right.
This is why bible tells that there are not only seal of apostleship(1 Cor. 9:2) and the seal of righteousness(Rom 4:11) but the Holy Spirit has been put in our heart as a deposit, guaranteeing what is to come. (2 Cor. 1:22, Eph. 1:13)
- 1 Cor. 9:2「Even though I may not be an apostle to others, surely I am to you! For you are the seal of my apostleship in the Lord.」
- Rom 4:11「And he received the sign of circumcision, a seal of the righteousness that he had by faith while he was still circumcised.」
However, “the Seal of God” in Revelation Chapter 7 is the one to be put on God’s people right before the last disaster would come upon them. This is very the sign of salvation to enter the kingdom of Heaven by escaping from last disasters.
All destructive plagues had passed over for those who had painted the blood of lambs on the sides and tops of doorframes of the houses in Egypt. In the same way, only through the blood of Christ who is the reality of Passover lamb, we could get the salvation in the last judgment.

ReplyDeleteTo begin with, the Passover of the New Covenant has been hidden for long ages(Mt 26:17~28).This Passover is Jesus' promise that we can inherit Jesus' flesh and Jesus' blood, so that we can receive eternal life(Jn 6:54, Mt 26:17~28)!!
Furthermore, we can be protected from the last disasters!! Jn 6:56[Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood remains in me, and I in him.], Here, "remain in me" maens that we remain in God Almighty who wnats to save us!! Only through the Passover we can remain in God, our Savior!!
